Ekiti State Government has empowered another nine communities with over Seventy Million Naira to execute infrastructural projects under Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency, EKCSDA.
Presenting cheques to the benefiting communities at the Government House in Ado Ekiti, Governor Ayodele Fayose said the idea was to facilitate and fast track development at the grassroots across the state.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kolapo Olusola, Governor Fayose mentioned some of the infrastructural projects to be executed in the communities to include accessible roads, health centre, lock up shops, classrooms and viewing centres among others.
He advocated proper maintenance of the projects when completed with a particular call on the leaders of each community to ensure effective supervision and monitoring of the projects.
Earlier, the General Manager of EKCSDA, Mr Steve Bamisaye charged the contractors to ensure transparency in their dealings and carry out proper documentation of their expenditure.
The Obanla of Ijesha Isu, Oba Adeniyi Osho who spoke on behalf of other benefiting communities, thanked the state government for the assistance, with a promise to make judicious use of the money.
The nine benefiting communities are Afao, Isinbode, Egbe, Onala Igbemo, Osi, Ijesha Isu, Irasa and Ara Ekiti.
